  • Eighty percent of ocean pollution comes from land 

  • Lots of chemical pollution happen when fertilizer from your yard or farm go into streams or creeks, they eventually end up in the ocean

  • Plastic kills fish, birds, marine mammals and sea turtles when they eat plastic

  • Some trash sinks, some are eaten by marine life

  • Some trash comes from oil spills others come through the drains and sewers and end up in the ocean

  • Most ocean pollution fits in two categories, chemicals and trash
